With that being said, barely anyone has bothered playing on it in years, so good luck finding people to play with on there unless you know some friends who want to play the game with you. The cd-key you have from the GoG copy works on the original Bnet gateways. You would need to use the original cd-rom client (or at least an ISO of it) because the GoG client gets rejected by it. The first is by using the original Battle.Net gateways, which still accept the Warcraft 2 BNE client. In the mean time, there's two ways you can play Warcraft 2 online. It's completely up to GoG to fix it, if they decide its even worth looking into. This is purely a gateway issue nobody can log in at all. Trying to log into Diablo will leave you stuck at "checking versions" This gateway was also meant for Diablo 1 as well, meaning you can't play that either. If you try to log in, it'll just get stuck at "verifying cd-key." The Global gateway stopped working a little over a week ago. Just a little PSA for anyone whose been trying to log into Warcraft 2 through GoG.
